Spread the Word on Alzheimer with Personal Snapchat Story

To mark World Alzheimer Day on September 21st, Starcom Mediavest in partnership with Good Health Arabia and Getty Images have created a campaign to raise awareness for the cause in the UAE. To educate the young UAE citizens on this damaging disease, the group turned to social media, the strongest outlet they believe to spread an impactful message about a powerful subject. 

Dire estimates suggest that the diseases' "prevalence could increase by more than 600% by 2030". Aware that Snapchat is popular among the youth, the campaigners likened Snapchat to Alzheimer – both hold memories that disappear in a few seconds. They created a hashtag #MermoriesMatter to tell the story of Alzheimer and allow users to share theirs as well, all along equating the disappearance of Snapchat "memories" to the damaging effects of the disease. This bright initiative will enable young users to experience memory loss first hand and get a real grip of the dreadful disease. 

Memories capturing nostalgic family moments in the form of pictures, set to disappear in seconds, will be featured on 3 Snapchats and consequently will be followed by the message 'Alzheimers Erases Your Memories, Let’s Erase Alzheimers'. Be part of this great initiate and spread awareness in your own way and in your own words. Make your memories last forever by helping those around you achieve it too.
