What About Some Warm Weather Fun with the Kids?

When the sun shines, we, as adults, are so happy and excited to go back to our summer activities, so just imagine how your kids will feel. They have been studying all year long and the least you can do for them is treat them to some outdoor fun. With temperatures rising, you have to let them enjoy the beautiful weather before it gets too hot. With this in mind, we have come up with a list of activities that will definitely make this season as enjoyable as it could be.

  • While the temperature is still bearable, the first activity that comes to mind is a hiking trip in nature, or a day spent in the desert. So don’t forget to prepare some snacks, just in case the kids get hungry!
  • The second idea would be to let your kids enjoy the outdoor space of your house. But before they do so, make sure they are wearing some old clothes because it can get really messy out there.
  • If your outdoor is big enough, bring some old sheets, ropes and wood batons and help your kid learn how to build a tent to which they can invite their friends.
  • Since the summer is not in full swing yet, you can always find some time where it’s a bit windy; so take this opportunity to take your kids to the beach and let them fly some kites. Believe us, this will definitely trigger their sense of exploration, so prepare yourself for some questions!
  • If you feel like your children like to cook, let them enjoy preparing some homemade ice cream, sorbets or popsicles with their favorite fruits. This will allow them to enjoy a healthy, refreshing snack.
  • Biking, roller-skating and playing football are always options that allow your children to have fun and enjoy the nice weather and the sun.

Details that Would Make Your Summer Wedding Just Perfect!

When preparing for your wedding, perfection is something that can never be compromised. So, what if your wedding is in summer, when the sun shines so gloriously and temperatures are at an all-time high? Well, that definitely makes the task harder but here are some tips to make it easier on you!

  • First and foremost, an outdoor wedding in the GCC is quite impossible, so opt for a destination where the warm summer weather is bearable for you and your guests.
  • Take advantage of the refreshing and joyful summer colors – which will make you such a distinguished bride thanks to the colorful bouquet you’re carrying.
  • Nothing is more sophisticated and refined than lavender, so use the latter as a decoration or a flavor that sets the tone for your wedding cake.
  • In the scorching heat, nothing can make water fresher than the refreshing flavor of mint, lemon and strawberries when bottled in big dispensers. Quite a special way to keep your guests hydrated, don’t you agree?
  • Another detail that makes what you’re serving on this big day quite special is a gelato station!
  • Now it’s time to talk about the decoration. Summer rhymes with beach, so it would be a great idea to decorate the table with pieces related to this theme especially if you’re having a beach wedding.
  • Also ideal for summer is a welcome bag that you offer to your guests featuring items related to this season such as towels, sunglasses, an umbrella to protect them from the sun…
  • As for your beauty, avoid wearing your hair down and opting for heavy makeup that may get smudgy later on. Tell your hairdresser and makeup artist about the theme of your wedding and the location in order for him to do the necessary to keep your look perfect until the end of the day.
  • If the sun is out, alwayskeep a pair of sunglasses next to you in order to protect your eyes from the sun. And hey, choose ones that go well with the style of your dress!
  • If you’re into hair accessories, do not hesitate to flaunt your sophisticated style with an exquisite hat if your wedding happens to be during the day. However, a flower crown is always a good idea for the brides with bohemian taste.

Style Your Child the Easy Way

Cover Photo Courtesy of Instagram.com/Fashionkids

Probably one of the hardest tasks a mother can do is dress her kids in the morning. After all, not only does she have to face a more-than-probable tantrum, but she also has to actually get them to wear the clothes. Consider it a rite of passage to motherhood or consider what you may, it’s an inevitable fact that children are way more difficult to dress than anyone else.

But it’s also an inevitable fact that kids fashion has come a long way. I’m sure that you’ve come across several Instagram pages where mothers dress up their daughters with the same outfit, along with the hashtag #MiniMe. If you haven’t, then you must have noticed that kids nowadays are a lot more stylish than they used to be. Parents play a huge role in this part, as they infuse a touch of their already-existing fashion sense into their children – which is completely normal as long as it does not cross boundaries. And so, with all that in mind, how will you style your child this season? Below, we share some tips and tricks to get the warm season kick-started!

  1. Contrary to adults, dressing children should never privilege style over comfort. If it’s not comfy enough, then abort mission. Your kids should be able to play, jump and act like kids in their clothes. And if their outfit gets in the way of them simply being kids, then that’s a clear sign of a no-no outfit.
  2. Always dress for the weather. Kids are more vulnerable to weather changes than adults, therefore, although said outfit might look cute at the moment of inception, it might not protect your children from a potential breeze, or from an unexpected shower. Even if they don’t want to, this issue in particular should not be their choice.
  3. Choose the appropriate attire for their age and make sure you don’t implement any premature options on them – i.e., no makeup, perhaps no sequins and so on. There are some styles that are probably a bit too old for them and they should enjoy their age as much as possible.
  4. If you don’t know the dress code of an event, it’s better to underdress them than to overdress them.
  5. Finally, let them have some input into their clothing options. When they feel like they’re free to choose their clothes, they’ll be less resistant to your options as well.

Honeymoon Lovin’ – How to Pack Light?

Frankly, with all the ordeal that comes with the wedding shenanigans, some newlyweds might find it kind of relaxing once the big day is over. After all, weddings are not the easiest of events to prepare for; you have the engagement party, the pre-wedding and well, the wedding itself – and that’s because we still haven’t mentioned the hoard of tasks you have to complete in order to get it all right.

So the idea of life after the wedding doesn’t sound so bad now, does it? In fact, the post-wedding phase is still in the newlyweds’ side of the “married life” spectrum, as there still is the ever-so famous honeymoon! Couples usually choose a tropical destination to relax after all the hectic events, but others might choose metropolitan cities that they have yet to discover. Today, we’re going to focus all our efforts on making your honeymoon packing a whole lot easier and that much lighter – you don’t want to come back with a herniated disk, do you now?

So ladies, read below as we take you through the fine art of travelling light (even if you’re dying to pack your entire closet with you).

  1. The best-case scenario here is to prepare everything in advance, before the wedding even happens. Because let’s face it, after the big day, you’ll be too tired to think about your food, let alone life itself. So yeah, the sooner you prepare yourself, the better.
  2. Second, you can never go wrong with a list of the things you need to pack. And no, we’re not talking about that dress you haven’t worn since your last day of high school. Also, consulting with your partner is never a bad idea, as you can ultimately optimize your packing options.
  3. Next, get your destination in check; finalize your travel plans and you’ll be able to set a list of your must-pack essentials accordingly. For instance, if you’re going to a beach destination, then it goes without saying that you’ll need to pack some swimsuits, some sundresses, sunglasses and sandals – amongst other stuff. If you’re going to a big city, you’ll probably be needing a pair of jeans, some sneakers and a bunch of savvy outfits for a fancy night out.
  4. But before you go all out with the packing shenanigans, check the weather first. Who knows, there might be rainy days and maybe even colder ones.
  5. Always divide your outfits between daywear and nightwear, that way, you won’t have it all confused in your head.
  6. Now the shoes; we women can never have enough of these beauties, but remember you only have two feet. So just pack the essentials and forget about these pair of funky shoes you bought on a whim 15 years ago.
  7. Pack less bottoms and more tops, that’s our motto.
  8. As for your bags, pick one for your daytime activities and another one for the night. And that’s us being generous.
