Say Hello with a White Smile

So you went to the dentist and got a professional whitening session, and then a few weeks later you noticed that your pearly whites have lost their luster. You’re now left wondering about ways you can enhance their whiteness from the comfort of your own home. Luckily for you, we’ve done the research and all you have to do now is read the following tips to keep them as white as they can be.

- Professional whitening might call for a visit to the dentist, but when it comes to superficial stains, you can easily get rid of them with some at-home products such as special rinses and toothpastes. Head to the drugstore to find some good ones!

- Teeth whitening kits that can be used at home are also a good option, but the key to their success is consistency as these should be used on a daily basis for 30 to 45 minutes. If you can’t commit to this, whitening strips are a good substitute and should be worn just a few minutes daily – better than 45, no?

- Some prefer home remedies such as baking soda which whitens your teeth. Just add a bit to your toothbrush et voila.

- Believe it or not, there are some foods that whiten your teeth too, such as celery, apples, pears, carrots and chewing gum. The latter trigger saliva which washes away food stains on your teeth.

- They say prevention is the best treatment and we absolutely agree! If you want to keep your teeth white, avoid foods and drinks that discolor them. Stop smoking as this causes brown stains.

- Daily maintenance is key. Brush your teeth at least twice a day, use an electric or sonic toothbrush – which is always better than a traditional one, floss and use an antiseptic mouthwash on a daily basis.
