Experience the Beauty of the World with Cartier

The beauty of the world forever remains a source of inspiration for Cartier, and chapter 3 of Beautés du Monde high jewelry collection is yet another proof of this. A philosophy rather than just an inspiration, it takes us back to when the Cartier brothers travelled the world in quest for a way to reinvent it through exquisite creations. A bird’s feathers and the abstraction of a Japanese motif are nothing but two mere examples of the beauty this collection holds.

The fascinating beauty of the peacock, paired with Louis Cartier’s passion for the Islamic art, paved the way to a powerful combination of blue and green that became part of the Maison’s palette under the name of “peacock motif”. Reinterpreting this Cartier signature is the Ocelle necklace through two opals respectively weighing 16.59 and 6.19 carats, a 21.18-carat Zambian emerald, as well as the eyespots reminiscent of the peacock’s plumage highlighted by an onyx trim and set with custom cuts of opals and emeralds.

The Splendens necklace finds inspiration in the delicacy of a fish’s floating fins, displaying a cascade of spinel beads of increasing size and harmonious colors. Just like light reflects on the scales of a fish, it plays on the surface of the tiny nails holding the beads. Nine oval and pear spinels totalling 27.79 carats accentuate the necklace, as well as square- and lozenge-shaped diamonds.

Nature’s perfection and more precisely the plumage of a bird are embodied in the Camail necklace set with a 42.44-carat ensemble of five pear-shaped Zambian emeralds, highlighted by a curve of square diamonds trimmed with custom-cut onyx. Through this marvel, white, green and black further assert themself as an emblematic color combination of the Maison.

Inspired by Japanese fabrics decorated with the rising sun motif, the Obi necklace is an ode to the culture of Japan, a land that has been cherished by Cartier for more than a century. Eight cabochon-cut emeralds, including a 12.53-carat specimen from Zambia, constitute the starting point of this marvel, while small calibrated rubies, custom-cut onyx and sparkling diamonds embrace them.
