7 Mistakes You’re Doing While Getting Dressed

Have you ever looked closely in the mirror and realized you weren’t quite the style guru? You’re not the only one.

We’re going to level with you; men aren’t the greatest fashion endorsers. Don’t get us wrong, they like to look dapper but with the least amount of effort needed – so to speak. We know it’s not easy to wake up one hour ahead in the morning just so you can groom yourself properly and yes, the thought of having to listen to people giving you style-related advice is enough to bring tears to your eyes. But humor us, will you?

So, assuming you’re interested in looking just a teensy bit stylish without going all out in terms of clothing, we’ve gathered the 7 most common mistakes men make while getting dressed.

  1. Underestimating the power of knowing your size. If the shirt doesn’t fit, stop trying to make it happen. And if it’s too loose, throw it in the bin – unless you want to be a rapper.
  2. Wearing flappy jeans and having to walk all over them because you’re too oblivious to the fact that you’re not Justin Timberlake – circa 2000.
  3. Not having a tailor. A suit is not a suit if it’s not perfectly tailored for your body.
  4. Wearing an extremely thin tie. Enough said. Not only is it pointless, but it doesn’t even look good with your suit.
  5. Thinking that buttoning all the buttons of your shirt is a good idea. It’s just not.
  6. Thinking that unbuttoning the buttons of your shirt is a good idea. No one needs a premiere of your torso.
  7. Not matching your socks to your outfit. We totally get it, mixing colors is very in right now, but unless you want to look like a clown, match your socks to your clothes.
