From lips to under eyes, the latest trend in skincare is wearing a gel mask, or a patch. So we tried out a few of these to see what all the hype is about. They vary in prices and ingredients. We do recommend reading the ingredients before purchasing, since some of these contain fragrances which you may not want to put around your gentle eye area. Whether or not you want to post a selfie during this beauty ritual is up to you.

When it comes to masks I love Peter Thomas Roth’s products, and we just happen to share our obsession with gold. I know what you’re thinking: “why can’t I just dip my gold necklace in coffee put it in the fridge and place it under my eye?” (or is that just me?) It’s not that simple, as these soothing masks also contain hyaluronic acid and glycerin for a boost of intense hydration in only 10 minutes. Do these masks work? It feels like they do. Before getting ready for an event we all like to prep and take some special steps to make us feel like we made the extra effort, and we’ll put this in that category. Would I use it every day? No. For those days where you just need extra pampering and just want to sip chamomile and relax, these patches are a must have. 

Sephora offers many of these gels from their own product line for a very reasonable price. These are fun for a girls’ night in. The lip mask is one of my favorites in the line. With all the lip liners and matte lipsticks, your lips probably can use a break. Their lip masks are so soothing and hydrating. Definitely try them once, and you be the judge.
