To Microblade or Not

It seems like everyone is microblading their eyebrows the days! So, basically you go in for a few treatments and you never have to color in your brows and they look perfect. Hmm? Where do I sign up? Not so fast! When something seems too good to be true it usually is. I myself have been back and forth about getting this done. First of all, my eyebrows are pretty thick once I color them in. Which makes me think do I really need this? The thought of just waking up with perfect brows like I did at the age of 16 sounds pretty awesome. Also, the whole, brows are sisters not twins thing really bugs me. With microblading they can actually be twins! Sounds so tempting but what are the pros and cons?

First off what is it? It’s basically a semi-permanent tattoo of hair-like strokes that fade away over time. This is great for commitment-phobes but even a few months is a commitment for me! The ideal person for this is someone with over plucked brows that don’t grow back. The results last about a year and then you need to go in and retouch. It’s a little pricey, but think of all the eyebrow products you never have to buy again. It only takes a couple of sessions and heals fairly quickly. As far as pain, you can use a numbing cream. But, once you have them done, you can’t get your eyebrows wet for a week and they may look darker within the next week or so, but then go back to lighter. Overall, I think it’s a great idea but I have heard from many people that they still have to fill in their brows. If you do decide to do it, make sure you go to a professional that uses sterile equipment.
