Tips for the Ideal Summer Makeup

With summer just around the corner, our beauty routine will definitely undergo some changes, especially our makeup. We don’t want it to look heavy and smudgy, so we need ways to achieve breezy makeup looks that exude the fresh summer vibes.

Below are some tips to get the desirable results for the sunny season:

1 – During the summer, it’s very important to apply sunscreen. If you don’t want your face to look naked, opt for a tinted one that evens out the color of your skin without looking too heavy.

2 – If you are opting for a transparent sunscreen and you would like to cover some light flaws, concealer is the best way to proceed.

3 – No summer makeup look is complete without a bronzing powder. Choose one with a slight shimmery effect and peach or pink undertones, and apply it to the apples of your cheeks, across the bridge of your nose and on your temples in order to mimic the areas of your face that the sun usually hits.

4 – Since summer is the season when everything is bright, your eyes should be too. A summer version of smokey eyes can be achieved with a deep copper eyeshadow smudged all over your lids or use a shimmery golden pink for a softer look. Whatever your choice is, pay attention to opt for a long-wearing cream-to-powder eyeshadow in a glimmering shade.

5 – Avoid dreaded raccoon eyes by using waterproof mascara. If you find long-wearing formulas irritating, here’s a tip: sweep a coat of clear mascara over your usual black one on your upper lashes to seal the color, and only apply a clear coat on your bottom lashes.
