Threading at Home

Many times waxing irritates my skin and even sometimes burns a layer off, ouch! So I decided to teach myself how to thread for those emergency moments when I notice some unwanted hairs.
Here’s what I do:
I only use this on my upper lip but not on my eyebrows. If you are a pro, go for it but the lip is much easier to do –at least for me it is. You can use any type of thread. I like to start off with some baby powder on the area, and then clean it with a cotton swab soaked in rosewater when I’m done.
Using about a foot of thread, take both ends and join them by tying it into a knot. When you have a circle, hold on to the ends with your hands.
Twirl the thread using one hand three times. This creates the “X” that is going to remove the hairs.
Using your thumb and index finger, open and close against the skin to take out the hairs.
For the sides of your lip, stick your tongue in the corner of your mouth to create a bump to make it easier, otherwise you might damage your skin from the extra pulling. Be careful as this area is very sensitive. You can also use Aloe Vera to sooth it afterwards. Once you practice and get the hang of it, it’s actually pretty fun.
Now invite your girlfriends over and show off your new skill.
