Pedal Power and Mini Grand Prix

Now is your chance to make your child feel like a Formula One racer!

Parma-based manufacturer Scuderie Campari makes pedal-driven miniature racing cars for children. We are talking luxury toys inspired by legendary sports cars that are high on style.

Let’s see how these glamor vehicles came about. Enrico Campari (former employee at Ferrari’s Formula 1 racing car department) wanted to gift something special to his son, Luca, on his fifth birthday. It had to be a car, no less. Enrico’s vision was inspired by the Ferrari 375 Indy from 1952, driven by the two-time world champion Alberto Ascari. Enrico named the car MIRA after a star, whose name in Italian meravigliosa means wonderful. Thus grew the demand for the MIRA series handcrafted using the “highest-quality materials used for modern Formula 1 vehicles.”

The car’s lovely cherry-wood steering wheel and leather seat are custom made. Oh, and also, you can have the designs and colors customized as per your child’s choice. Enrico has come up with two more cars: made in wood and aluminum, the new pedal car is for kids aged 4-8, and the other adorable version, sans pedals, is for toddlers aged 18-24 months.

Now, if your kids, nieces and nephews wish to participate in the Mini Grand Prix, fly them to Florence. Scuderie Campari is organizing a race on September 11 to celebrate UNICEF’s 70th anniversary. Around 120 children from across the world will be seen zooming around on glossy pedal cars – 30 different models – in colors of green, pink, white, grey, red, and more! Join the fun.
