Let's Be Blunt

I was having the worst hair-day ever! Probably due to extreme humidity, I woke up to frizzy curly hair that was begging to be trimmed. I loved having semi long hair, but it was getting a bit out of control at the ends. I did what any woman would do and text my hairdresser hoping for an opening. He asked if I can be there in an hour so I rushed over immediately.

I sat in his chair thankful for squeezing me in. For years, and I mean years, he has been giving me the same long layers which worked really well and framed my face. This time something didn't feel right, I just needed a change. In a word, I was "bored." I thought of cheating on him with a new hairdresser, but then I thought “why not just ask him for a change?”  I told him I was sick of my layers and wanted something different. Suddenly the front layers that I had been sporting all these years just reminded me of "Rachel" from friends.

This looked great for a while, but it's now 2017 and we need a fresh new look. I asked him to cut it all one length. He loved the idea and confirmed that's what the style is now. And off with the scissors we went! After some of the chopping, I realized that the front layers do have a little growing out to do to catch up, but the rest of my hair is all one length and gorgeous. I did feel like most women after a haircut, like "it's too short", but I have to say it feels edgy and powerful. My hair was weighing me down and this was like a breath of fresh hair. It will take a few cuts to get all my hair one blunt length aka the “long bob”.

Nevertheless, I loved the change. Now, I feel like I’m back in college, and a decade away from looking 30-something. Go blunt, you will look modern and updated. Bye Rachel!
