Hermès turned to the great outdoors with a heavy dose of street cool for its autumn/winter collection in Paris. If you thought for one moment that the rarified world of luxury leathers, fine spun cashmeres and the softest of sheepskins and buttery suedes is confined to the realms of chauffeur dressing, then Hermès is urging you to think again. From the chunky rib knit beanies right down to the matching colored mountaineering leather boots, this was a playfully strong collection built around a vivid palette of wintery greens, deep blues, lilacs and reds. Signature Hermes prints were worked into silk blouses styled with exquisitely cut leather pencil skirts and must-have high waisted trousers. Classic traditions of craftsmanship were worked perfectly into looks that color clashed or went tonal, for a collection that oozed a contemporary cool.
