Chanel’s Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’Art Collection in Tokyo

Following last December’s show at The Ritz Paris, Tokyo welcomed this season’s Chanel Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’art collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld, bringing together the world’s biggest celebrities such as the House’s ambassadress Caroline de Maigret, Willow Smith, and Japanese actress Tao Okamoto to name a few. Walking the show were Chanel ambassadresses Lily-Rose Depp, Ellie Bamber, Nana Komatsu, Japanese actress Ayami Nakajo and models Selah Marley and Sistine Stallone.

The show’s lunch, tea time and dinner shows were channeled in a unique European style mansion, also known as the Tsunamachi Mitsui Club, capturing ever-so perfectly the Ritz Paris’ exceptional atmosphere. Celebrating the best of Chanel’s craftsmanship, the Paris Cosmopolite show unveiled a series of numbers inspired by “the evening dresses that women used to wear to dine at the Ritz”, as Karl Lagerfeld stated. Well-defined waists grazed the silhouettes while tweed suits and coats paid homage to the House’s timeless legacy. Models paraded in padded jackets, embellished knits and opulent evening and cocktail embroidered gowns. Colors skewed from cream, white, navy blue with red and golden hues, making way to a fabulous combination of delicate fabrics. To top it all off, the models were adorned with state-of-the-art accessories, from head to toe- think little veils of crowns of roses atop their head, thigh high boots and several versions of Chanel’s Gabrielle handbag.
