Beauty Tip of the Week – Good bye Contour, Hello Blush!

Dear Contour, over and out! (for now, that is)

Contouring will forever remain an essential technique in any makeup application; however, a change is around the corner and a perfectly sculpted face is becoming all too repetitive and sometimes harsh. The different methods of contouring can make us look thinner, fuller, and in some cases crazy!

The world of beauty is once again going for a different take on beauty and going back to basics. As a makeup artist, I am loving and enjoying blush tones after a time of serious contour overload.

Achieving the look is as simple as this:

1- Apply your foundation as usual. No contour, no highlight, no strobing, and no bronzer!

2- Choose a rich color blusher...think shades of Rhubarb, Pink Cotton Candy, and Tangerine. Our blush of the moment is Dual-Intensity Blush by NARS. 2 shades in one, highly pigmented, with a beautiful finish.

3- Generously apply your blush on the apples of your cheeks moving up towards your temple. For additional freshness, apply a lighter amount of the same blusher on your eyelids serving a monochromatic look and making a stronger statement.

The best part of this look is that it requires minimal time, it’s super easy to pull off, and is a wakeup call to your overall complexion.
