Work Attire – What’s Acceptable and What’s Not?

You’re probably thinking to yourself “does it matter really”? Well, it really does, especially if you’re picking attires related to a workplace. The image you give off to your fellow peers as a man is of utmost importance.

Now to be fair, office style is very confusing; should you go for a formal attire – i.e. a suit and a tie – or should you go for a more chilled out outfit? Decisions, decisions, decisions! But there’s no need to complicate things if you’re familiar with your work environment and the appropriate dress code.

So if you’re constantly standing in front of your closet with absolutely no idea as to what to wear to work, we’ve got just the thing for you. We, at Azyaamode, have gathered a list of guidelines that will surely take you through the hardships of working in elegance and style.

Consider your work environment. In other words, if you work in corporate, then you probably should always be dressed to the nines. That means suits, suits and forever suits. Also, you can’t go wrong wearing a suit, so there you have it.

Clothes are not the only important matter in this situation; shoes are also key. If you’re wearing a suit, go for brogues or derbies to compliment your style. If you’re going for a casual look, then avoid wearing used up and old sneakers. The newer and tidier they look, the better.

If you work in a casual workplace, please note that shorts and bermudas are never okay. We can’t stress this enough – well unless you work behind a bar in Hawaii.

Now for tees. Low cut necklines are not okay either. It only reflects your nonchalance towards your boss’ opinion and ultimately, your work environment.

Don’t wear anything with rips and tears. Ever.
