Valentino’s Act Collection for Fall/Winter 2021-2022

When it comes to Valentino, it’s always about bold moves. In a time when activities are banned, the House reopens one of Milan’s most iconic theaters only for the span of a show. It’s in the Piccolo Teatro di Milano that Valentino’s identity was reborn through a dialogue between sensuality, romanticism and non-nostalgic memories that define the new generation.

All of a sudden, everything was shorter. A scissor stroke was behind these short silhouettes that were paired with high heels or big boots. This fashion gesture also covered men’s pants, which were cut neatly above the ankle. The pleated skirt was given new proportions, peacoats and jackets morphed into capes, evening dresses reduced into flying panels held together by ribbons. And while limiting the colors to black, white, fluorescent acrylics and touches of checks, animal prints and polka dots made the vision of a wardrobe that men and women can share uncompromised, sensuality was embodied through nets and lace uncovering parts of the body. However, Valentino’s punk spirit revealed itself through the multiplied studs on the toe of nude pumps, on Valentino Garavani Rockstud bags and accumulations of rubber petals and macro studs on boots.

Well, it’s only a new “Act” in Valentino’s libertarian journey, might we say.
