Willing to honor his dear friend and mentor, the late photographer Richard Avedon, Hedi Slimane unleashed his creativity once again. “La Collection de l’Arc de Triomphe” film marks the birth of CELINE Beauté, the first cosmetics line in the House’s history. Through this women’s collection dedicated to the Winter 2024 season, the designer looked back at the 1960s, the golden age of CELINE, recapturing the origins and the spirit of the House with the two-piece “coordinates” looks, authentic rewoven materials, and ready-to-wear combined with hand-embroidered couture pieces. However, CELINE Beauté created by Hedi Slimane had its own agenda.
During the show, models were wearing “La Peau Nue” Rose Naturel lipstick, one of the 15 satin-finish colors of the “Rouge Celine” collection that will be available in 2025. In fact, the CELINE Beauté collection will launch this autumn with the first satin lipstick shade “Rouge Triomphe”. And afterward, each season will reveal new collections designed by Hedi Slimane who sets the foundation of his CELINE Beauté collection, comprised of lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners and pencils for the eyes, loose powder and blush cases for the complexion, nail polishes, etc.
In short, the creation of CELINE Beauté comes to enrich the cultural roots, promoting a French idea of femininity and allure, distilled over the last five years by Hedi Slimane in his new institutional codes for CELINE.
