Squared watches might be one of the rarest styles in the world of watchmaking, but this doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. And by squared, we don’t only mean the timepieces that feature a dial of a square shape, but also every watch with cases that take a shape with angles. Whether we’re talking about a square, rectangular or tonneau-shaped dial, the production of such a watch requires a high level of watchmaking skills – which makes the creation of such a piece a challenge in its own right.

This somehow explains the rarity of this style – which personally, I find quite charming when adorning the wrist of a man. That probably explains the reason that makes the adjective “sharp” quite suitable in the description of a masculine style, don’t you agree?

With this in mind, some watchmaking houses have decided to take the challenge and provide the world with some impressive squared creations. From Cartier to de Grisogono, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Patek Philippe and Parmigiani Fleurier – to name a few, the list is not short to say the least. If you’re ready to add this must-have style to your watch collection and take your style as a fashionable man to a new level, take a look at our list!

If not, you can always check out our edit of the best men’s timepieces from this year’s edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie.

The past few years have been the years of pulling off eyeglasses like a pro. And how so? By simply owning your vision deficiency and making it look “cool” – per se. Because yes, it’s perfectly fine that you have to wear eyeglasses and it’s more than okay to own it.

So how to make an otherwise average pair of eyeglasses look so dapper on you that you won’t even know what hit you? The trick here is to find the perfect style and fit that compliment your face and ultimately, to really understand the shape of your face. If you haven’t done so already, then please take a minute to look at yourself in the mirror before choosing your options. If your face is round then odds are you’ll look much better in rectangular frames or wayfarers. A heart-shaped face would look better with rounder frames while structured jawlines and squared-shaped faces would be optimized with aviators.

Once you have that figured out, all is left for you to do is pick your favorite style and wear it with a big fat smile. To help you out, we’ve rounded up the most trending optical glasses right now.

Belted and Buckled

If you buy one new thing this month, make it a well-crafted belt. After all, belts don’t just serve practical purposes as they also seem to always add this je ne sais quoi to one’s outfit. And how would you ever hold your trousers up without one good solid belt?

We all tend to take these essential accessories for granted, as they’re not a need, they’re a necessity. But what we tend to forget is that the more “present” and effective they are, the more likely we’ll stick to wearing them. For women, the issue is much more complicated as the styles vary in thickness, in the width of the buckle and in the way we wear them. For men, on the other hand, wearing belts is as easy as 1,2,3; the colors are limited between beige, camel brown and black – and their derivatives – and the buckles come as discrete as possible. The only issue men usually face lies in the pairing of belts with the pants, in terms of color and style. But should they pay good attention to it, the rest will follow suit!

That said, we’ve carefully chosen a few belts you should definitely invest in. Scroll below to find out more!

All the Best Looks at Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Men’s Runways

January is probably one of the busiest months in the fashion industry – right after February and September – as it is jam-packed with back-to-back shows, from Men’s runways in London, Milan and Paris and finally, the big Haute Couture week in the French Capital. The street style crowd was as stylish and fashion-forward as the models walking down the men’s runways and we can’t say we’re not looking forward for what’s yet to come.

One thing we’ve noticed is that there was a massive shift in the menswear department, as the trends have been fluctuating more and more towards gender ambiguity. That ultimately means: less differentiation and more androgyny. That said, the men’s runways were chockfull of colorful style for Fall/Winmter 2019-2020 and it all seems very promising. Designers have all shown off their best taste in menswear, from big brands and fashion houses such as Versace, Prada, Dolce &Gabbana and Emporio Armani – amongst others – and they’ve really upped the ante for the next round of runway shows in Paris.

And so, we’ve rounded up the best looks to hit Milan Fashion Week.

8 Fashion Rules You Should Be Following

While it’s easy to argue that some people are just born with a natural flair for style, the fact is, being stylish is something you or anyone else for that matter can work on. It’s quite ironic if you think about it; people want you to look effortlessly chic – as if you just “woke up like that” but doing so requires a whole lot of effort. Women have a certain drive towards this end-goal, but men on the other hand, have little to zero patience for it.

But the many reasons men should always look out for themselves – fashion wise, of course – shouldn’t only be ones that score a lot of points in the damsels’ department. Consider a personal challenge to always look dapper and to defy gender stereotypes. Yes, some men care about fashion and yes, some men like to pamper themselves. So men, to what lengths would you go to take care of your image? How much effort would you be willing to put in to increase the likelihood of you making the stylish list? Whatever your answer is, we’ve gathered some tips to help you hone your fashionable skills nevertheless…

  1. Let’s start with the basics. The more basic your tee is, the better it will make you look. It would be very well appreciated if you would just let go of embroidered or encrusted t-shirts. The whole world will thank you.
  2. When there’s a chance for you to suit up, always go for the obvious route: suit up. Whether you have a meeting, a business lunch/dinner or a formal occasion, the more dapper your suit looks, the better.
  3. But once you do suit up, please make sure you don’t make use of the lower button. Just act like it doesn’t even exist.
  4. Your suit should always be tailored to your body. Not too tight and not too large. Perfect enough to hug your body and make you feel comfortable and at ease in it.
  5. Abolish the memory of square-toe shoes. Just abolish it.
  6. If you’re wearing a shirt – be it formal or not – you don’t always have to tuck it under your trousers. Sometimes, it really pays off being fashionably slouchy.
  7. Big buckles on your belt are a big no-no. Keep it simple.
  8. Lastly, be confident and enjoy your clothes so as to look comfortable in your own skin.
