Hermès Fall/Winter 2020-2021 Ready-to-Wear

This month has brought us a whole lot of amazing shows, venues and presentations. We’ve seen backstage props becoming runway-material and we’ve seen a runway show turning into an aviation venue. Hermès, on the other hand, transformed the Garde Republicaine into a dreamy manège, also known as an area where horses and riders are trained. As a matter of fact, the House’s creative director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski had more than a few tricks up her sleeves, using this metaphor as a canvas for contrasting elements – pairing together a white backdrop and a series of pop colors to create a “trip” like no other.

And so the pieces followed suit, as models walked the runway in rider-like outfits, from white coats and matching straight-cut tapered trousers to brownish monk-strap shoes and leather boots. There were fabulous pops of color filling the white canvas, from red coats, to dresses revealing stripes of bright red, yellow and blue tones, sweater dresses and knits topped off with the House’s moniker scarves. Of course, there were the staple leather outfits revealing Hermès’ knack for fine craftsmanship.
