Gucci Spring-Summer 2020 Ready-to-Wear

Gucci’s sustainable spirit was alive and well today at the Gucci Hub, where everyone who’s anyone gathered to witness yet another fine moment in fashion. The venue was actually transformed into a clinical space with bright lights and moving walkways, where models kicked off the show wearing uniforms and utilitarian clothes – all of which were part of a beige and ivory color palette, or rather a dress code that society would have you wear. But then the lights went off, and Gucci’s standard way of dressing was on the loose. And this was the way to do it – as the song blasting from the speakerphone would have it. The collection was all sorts of trippy, but in the most sophisticated way there is.
Alessandro Michele sent out models in platform seventies’ boots and long arm-length colorful gloves, alongside a slew of knife-pleated dresses, slip dresses with lace and leather inserts and gold patches completing a set of otherwise colorful pieces. Vibrant pantsuits, a rainbow-colored turtleneck and an organza ruffled blouse all redefined Gucci’s non-conformist aesthetic.
