Giorgio Armani Privé Couture Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Collection

It’s at the Petit Palais museum that designer Giorgio Armani brightened the French Capital with his new Haute Couture collection. Armani – who’s always had a thing or two for elegant pantsuits and an eye for the red carpet – showed us exactly how it’s done under the spotlight.

Inspired by the folk style of the late eighties, the designer sent out models with sharp hairdos and beautifully tailored blazers paired with wide-legged pants. There was a sort of contrasting element that lied in the lightness of the jackets and the statement-y trousers – the latter ranging from dark hues to metallic tones. As folk would have it, there were polka-dot motifs all over the collection, taking over lame cloche skirts, blazers – of course – and tulle skirts. The numbers were very “flou” but in the most beautiful kind of way; the kind you would wear on the red carpet with an understated-elegant mindset.
