Runway

Giorgio Armani Couture Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Collection

Who said Haute Couture was all about dresses and gowns? This time around, Giorgio Armani is counting a very different tale, as his couture show kick-started with models sashaying their way onto the runway in silk suits and shiny fabrics. Could the fairytale be changing?

The lavish runway was chockfull of monochromatic colors and the looks gave elegance a whole other meaning. Think structured suits upholstered with lamé fabrics and plunging jackets paired with chic maxi skirts. Think tailored blazers finely embroidered and silk flared pants. Along came the red carpet-worthy gowns – surely enough – which were decadently infused with subliminal messages. One of them featured an optical illusion of a woman crossing her arms, while another one was just a black and white canvas exuding perfection. Ruffles, fringes and tuxedo-turned-dresses were all abundant and served as an introductory phase to a much more colorful line. Indeed, pink and blue hues were playfully thrown together, as a kind reminder to Armani’s knack for all-things glamorous!
