Elie Saab Spring-Summer 2019 Collection

Lace, floral prints and colorful stripes; these were a few of Elie Saab’s favorite things for his Spring-Summer 2019 collection. The Lebanese designer sent out models wearing romantic pieces, from airy white jacket-skirt ensembles to off-the shoulder dresses and floral skirts. But there was some kind of edginess emanating from the collection. Perhaps it was the leather versus floral combination, or the black backdrop behind the patterns; either way, it resulted in a very-well designed new approach. There were lace inserts in almost every piece, and the designer’s staple high-slit dresses. But most of all, there were knee-high floral boots to compliment the already-ornamented outfits. Along came a sequined jacket paired with matching shorts and – much to our content – a sequined wrap dress with a high slit and padded shoulders.

An asymmetrical one-shouldered red dress – that will definitely be a red carpet magnet – gave way to a new galore of evening dresses, as a nod to Elie Saab’s knack for sultry gowns.
