Dior Spring-Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear

Like in every collection Maria Grazia Chiuri designs, creative imagination once again steals the show to unveil a Spring-Summer 2023 fashion story fit for the House’s heritage. With the image of a map of Paris taken from a Dior scarf dating back to the early 1950s, the creative director traced her own path.

Tuileries Gardens inspired by Italian noblewoman Catherine de Medici and the pioneering fashion she introduced to the French court in 1533, such as heeled shoes, the corset and the Burano lace, were at the heart of the show. Thus, the guêpière and wide skirts reminiscent of those seen at Court took the runway. A contemporary craftsmanship revisiting an ancestral tradition came to light through raffia coats adorned by floral and bird motifs paired with a scenography by artist Eva Jospin that reinvents Baroque grottos.

Along with this mesmerizing collection, the show’s extraordinary setting also witnessed the magnetic performance presented by the duo of dancers and choreographers Irme and Marne van Opstal. And as the fascinating energy took over the place, the balance between the beautiful and the disconcerting, mystery and virtuosity exuded a feminine power that has become a signature of Maria Grazia Chiuri, and a touch that we love about every Dior womenswear show.
