Dior Spring-Summer 2019 Collection

“Dance is the movement of the universe concentrated in an individual”. That was one of the many quotes featured on Dior’s show invite, which summoned the industry’s elites into the ParisLongchamp Racecourse. Bursting with the joys of white rose petals, the venue welcomed show-goers into Maria Grazia Chiuri’s own creative space, where dance and fashion meet ever-so brilliantly on the runway.

The superb beams of light made way to models sashaying down the runway in crochet dresses layered on top of bodysuits. There was a one-shouldered beige dress that recalled a Greek goddess’ costume and a lavish midi skirt that swayed with volume and delicacy. Of course, the House’s Saddle bag perfectly complimented some of Chiuri’s looks, while other pieces featured a degradé of tan colors. The show was exploding with the enthusiasm of dancers, as two worlds intertwine to create a single movement. Along came a series of khaki tulle dresses and ensembles – from embroidered tunics to shirts and baggy trousers. The garments seemed to give a nod to the ballet dancers, as tulle skirts and fitted bodices were all part of Chuiri’s collection.
