Dior Lands in Mumbai to Showcase Its Fall 2023 collection

Searching for a new ingenious way of talking about feelings and emotions that can connect us with a country and its culture, Dior traveled overseas to Mumbai where it showcased its Fall 2023 collection. Maria Grazia Chiuri accomplished just that, all while explaining the collaboration, work relations, and friendship linking her for many years to India and Karishma Swali, who directs the Chanakya ateliers and the Chanakya School of Craft, in Mumbai. Even the color palettes and materials she chose crystalize key influences shared with Swali, and among them was a color block sequence dedicated to silks – in shades of green, yellow, pink and purple – in homage to Marc Bohan, the then Artistic Director, who traveled to the country in April 1962, notably to Mumbai and Delhi, initiating conversation between France and India.

All the magic was revealed in the form of sophisticated evening coats, sari-inspired straight skirts and traditional Indian cuts, as well as pants, boleros, jackets and tops in the most astonishing ambiance. Different heritages and fashion cultures were brought together in a colorful setup in which the numerous lights acted like shining stars, thus bringing out the show’s artistic character in the most dazzling way.

In short, Dior did what it does best: taking our breath away!
