Dior Couture Spring-Summer 2020

Known for her passion for feminism and love for utter elegance, Maria Grazia Chiuri has bestowed total ingenuity and excellence on the House of Dior. And this particular Spring-Summer 2020 Couture collection has proven yet again that her era will prevail. Setting the tone for feminism and femininity, the runway collection responds to the question “What if women ruled the world?”

The pieces? Nothing less than pure genius. Think a golden and bronze palette introducing tasseled dresses with sultry cut-outs and Ancient Greek-inspired creations. Draped fabrics come together to highlight femininity in glory, while keeping a little window open for the concept pantsuits and blazers. Models were donning glorious headpieces that seemed to blend well with the pieces, and the creations were a true testament to the House’s fine craftsmanship – from the draped knife-pleated gowns, to the Greek-inspired one-shouldered sheer dresses. There were embroidered caftans matched with gowns and structured ensembles worthy of the Dior woman. But our coup de Coeur was definitely the one-shouldered golden tasseled gown that redefined fashion as we know it.  But isn’t this Chiuri’s forte anyway? And guess what, with a collection like this, women will rule the world!
