CHANEL Spring-Summer 2019 Collection

How about a beachscape for a runway show? Indeed, for CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2019 collection, Karl Lagerfeld decided to take the House’s most loyal devotees to a beautiful sandy destination, with a backdrop of azure-colored skies – a little something he likes to call “CHANEL by the Sea”.

And just like the name suggests, the collection featured all-things refreshing, from the pastel-colored tweed skirt-suits, to the gorgeous pink tweed jackets paired with skinny gauchos. Kaia Gerber walked down the runway in a short-sleeved button down shirt that had the “CHANEL” insignia written on it in black, while other models sported thick waist-belts and straw sunhats. There were jackets with large sleeves, fancy tunics and I-want-it-now sundresses. Colors skewed from baby blues to soft shades of pink and of course, white. The cherry on top of this very refreshing cake was the high-wasted retro swimsuit that was paired with a tweed blazer, the CHANEL way.
