CHANEL Fall/Winter 2023-2024 Ready-to-Wear

“The Camelia is more than a theme, it’s an eternal code of the House”, explained Virginie Viard and based on this vision, she launched a ready-to-wear collection infused with little, joyful touches of this soft yet strong winter flower – blooming over pockets, jackets, buttons, and in the romantic prints showcased on the creations. However, it wasn’t the sole source of inspiration, as the creative director reveals that the energy of the merry-go-round of wooden horses that provides the setting for Inez & Vinoodh’s film, with actress Nana Komatsu as the heroine, gave her the idea for the Bermuda shorts suits and the asymmetries.

Therefore, along with the camellia garden that took over the collection, asymmetrical coats, slitted dresses, suits featuring Bermuda shorts with tilted fronts, reveling backs, sequins and beads, as well as fantasy threads in knitwear joined the show in a precise and profound palette of black, white and shades of pink. Who might be the CHANEL woman come next winter? She’s definitely an artist with a wardrobe filled with masculine styles that highlight her charm and romanticism in the most CHANEL way…
