CHANEL Fall/Winter 2020-2021 Ready-to-Wear

It was her second solo ready-to-wear collection for CHANEL since the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, but Virginie Viard knew what she was doing. Her representation of the CHANEL woman was sensual and completely fashion forward, taking the French Maison’s most encrusted values and codes and transforming them into a modern-day CHANEL bundle of style.

This season in particular, she embellished nearly every piece with buttons, from the tweed jackets, to the wide-legged trousers, the midi-skirts, the shorts and the tops – and it was a breath of fresh air. The first part of the show revealed a dark color palette, with colors skewing from black to grey and tiny pinches of colors – such as Kaia Gerber’s bardot puffy sleeved dress cinched at the waist with a rainbow-colored belt. Models wore polka-dotted tights and black and brown boots to match their sensual looks. The last part of the show was more on the white-side of the continuum as we witnessed a galore of all-white outfits running down the runway. Winter is going to be hot next season!
