Keep Your Wedding Guest List under Control

Perhaps one of the hardest tasks a bride can do is narrow down a never-ending list of guests for her wedding. After all, no person wants to be the one to over-invite or under-invite, especially if said person has the weakness of wanting to please everyone.

So if you belong to this category of people, then allow to us un-burden you. Believe it or not, there are more ways than others to shortlist your wedding guests and you can definitely pull it off without having to get the nasty eye from the people you didn’t get the chance to invite. Bride-to-be, if you’re having a hard time trying to select your wedding guests, we’ve got you covered.

Scroll below as we take you through some tips and tricks to alleviate the “invitation” pressure!

  1. Being in love means you want to share your wedding day with the whole wide world. But when reality kicks in, you’ll soon realize that neither your venue of choice nor your budget permits you to do so. Enter the “Draft 1” guest-list. Make a small estimate of the number of family members and friends you want to invite, just to have a clearer idea. From there, you’ll be able to move more freely.
  2. Keep in mind that some of your invitees will have plus ones. So if you think that you probably won’t be seeing said person after the wedding, then it’s sure as heck not worth inviting him/her.
  3. Also, one of the most important factors in the wedding guest list is the parents. Whether they’re paying for your big day or not, it’s nice to take their guests into consideration.
  4. Now once you take all these factors into account, you’ll probably end up with – to say it mildly – a pretty huge list. So with all these names and plus ones in mind, you’ll want to consider who are the people who will really be supporting you throughout your marriage and who will not. The ones that you know can make an impact are definitely the keepers.
  5. Lastly, keep a little margin for the people who probably won’t attend your wedding. You can replace them with a little something we like to call “List B”.

A Beachy Kind of Wedding Day

Sure, getting married is something you’ve been waiting for your whole life, but have you ever thought about having a wedding by the beach?

There’s something about walking down the aisle with a beach view that’s unmatchable. For as long as we can remember, people have been trying to find different alternatives to your run-of-the-mill wedding venues and destinations. Some couples have tried tying the knot in the land where dreams come true – yes, Disneyland – and others went as far as saying yes to each other underwater. We’re not saying you should put your scuba-diving gear on, but how about you crank it up a notch? The good thing about a beach wedding is that you can wear a magnificent dress while sealing the deal amidst an exceptional view.

That said, your wardrobe choices should really be restricted to pared-down, breezy and flowy wedding gowns. The trick here is to stick to short-sleeved dresses, airy fabrics and everything that screams “beach day”. Think you can do it? See all the wedding dress inspirations, straight from the runway!

Elie Saab Celebrates the Wedding of Elie Saab Junior and Miss Christina Mourad

This July we witnessed the wedding of Elie Saab’s eldest son Elie Saab Junior to Miss Christina Mourad in the Lebanese designer’s home country Lebanon, and more specifically in the mountain resort of Faqra. What to expect from a designer that never fails to steel our breath away with his creations? Nothing less than a series of sophisticated celebrations that are now the talk of the world!

The festivities started on July 18th with a themed Oriental pre-party at the Plateau de Bakish, during which Christina looked stunning in a cream jumpsuit paired with a gold cape from Elie Saab’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection. The next day, the couple tied the knot during a religious ceremony followed by a cocktail party organized by Neiman Azzi. The beautiful bride donned an Elie Saab Haute Couture custom sleeveless tulle embroidered gown made of ivory silk and champagne lurex threads embellished with 500.000 sequins, a high-neck bodice and a 4.5-meter trail.

The celebrations continued with an evening party organized by Ziad Raphael Nassar that took place at Faqra Club. The 1200 guests included A-list celebrities and friends of the family, such as Dita Von Teese, Chantal Thomas, Karolina Kurkova, Nadine Labaki, Toni Garrn, Lily Donaldson, Elissa, Nancy Ajram and Assi Hilani. For this party, the bride looked stunning in Elie Saab Haute Couture gold and beige rosé heart-shape corset gown with a voluminous skirt and a 3.5-meter trail inspired by the Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection. And for a sparkling feel like no other, this masterpiece was embellished with 650.000 gold sequins and 150.000 Swarovski strass pieces.

To end these memorable festivities on a wonderful note, Mr. Elie Saab welcomed the guests to a party at his residence in Faqra on the 20th. The sunset to sunrise celebration witnessed the bride wearing a stunning aquamarine flowing silk georgette full length dress from the designer’s Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2019 collection.

Last-Minute Short Wedding Guest Dresses

Finding ourselves in a little fashionable rut, are we? Fear not, miladies. We’ve got just the solution for you…

We all know that weddings are not the easiest occasions to choose dresses for. First, you’d have to know the theme of the wedding, the location and well, the dress code. And of course, you can’t wear any shades of white, you can’t steal the bride’s thunder – because how dare you – and you can’t wear billowing gowns if it’s a casual wedding. Yes, the restrictions are endless but the styles you can pick from are even more so. That said, short dresses are the perfect companion to any wedding you have to attend, from the wedding of a family member to that of your close friend or that of a distant one. Luckily, we’ve seen a lot of beautiful short dresses lately, embellished with bouffant sleeves, nice patterns, luscious sequins or asymmetrical cuts.

The important thing here is to accessorize like you’ve never accessorized before – meaning, epic shoes, evening bag, jewelry and all that comes in-between. Check out what we’ve picked for you and choose your favorite!
