Burberry Spring-Summer 2020 Ready-to-Wear

Set in the heart of West London, Burberry’s Spring-Summer 2020 Ready-to-Wear show has been – much to our content – certified as carbon neutral. And it was yet another step towards a more eco-friendly fashion world. Need one say more?

Actually, one needs. Riccardo Tisci, the brand’s creative director, has already proven to us his knack for combining elegance with haute-streetwear. And tonight, it was pretty clear that his movement was not betting on change. That said, the Italian designer sent out models in traditional Burberry tailoring, only this time around, the shirts’ collars were scattered with Burberry’s insignia. What’s more, blouses and dresses were made out of scarf prints, with fringes adorning more than a few numbers – be it on fringes or drawing the length of a dress. Another element was introduced this time around as well, also known as the maxi trench coat – which was part of a bigger initiative to bring forth alterations to the already-iconic Burberry trench-coat. The beige-y color palette extended to midi-length suits and tapered trousers, while a three-piece suit came in a more grey-ish tone. There were glittery suits, sporty street wear combinations and most importantly, a lot of lace and feathers.
