All the Stylish Ways You Can Wear Your Bandana

Remember that paisley patterned, color-popping, large scarf you used to wear around your hair as a nineties kid? Well ladies, rejoice. This ever-so adorable accessory is back and it has undergone a fresh makeover to suit the likings of our fashion aficionadas.

Considering the huge surge in popularity for 90s memorabilia, the revival of the bandana didn’t come as much of a surprise to us. First, there were the flatforms and then came the chokers and the slip dress. And now, the bandana is returning to the land of all-things stylish, reminding us of the countless ways people used to wear it – from styling it around their neck to wrapping it on their head. But before you take out your old bandanas from the very back of your closet, allow us to give you some tried and true tips on how to wear this fabulous trend this season.

  1. When push comes to shove, you can always go the easy way. That said, the most common way is to wear it like a headband – it doesn’t matter if you leave the knot behind your hair or on top of it or if you tie your hair, or leave it to fall graciously on your shoulders.
  2. If you want to crank it up a notch, you can always wear your bandana as a choker and add some sass to your outfit. This style can look good with a plunging neckline and can add a statement to your look.
  3. Big fan of the ponytail? Wear your bandana wrapped around your ponytail and make this hairdo happen again!
  4. Who says bandanas can’t replace belts? Indeed ladies, if you’re looking for ways to spruce up your denim jeans, just throw on your bandana into your belt loop and strut your good looks ever-so fabulously!
  5. Don’t let your bag feel excluded! Wrap your bandana on one of the handles and let it shine oh-so proudly.
  6. Finally, don’t forget that the bandana is long and wide enough to be worn as a top. So if you’re ever short of a cropped top, just wrap it around your torso and pair it with high waisted bottoms to seal the deal!
