A Winter Garden Takes Over Dior’s Book Tote

For the coming winter, Maria Grazia Chiuri finds inspiration in a Mark Shaw photograph of Christian Dior in his winter garden, to give the house’s Book Tote a makeover fit for the colder season and true to Dior’s aesthetics. The result is a delicate pattern capturing plants, flowers and birds through embroidery. The use of this art comes as no surprise, when placed in the context of the Maison’s Fall/Winter 2022-2023 ready-to-wear collection bringing past times together with the materials and forms of today.

Twenty different colors make for the palette that brings the captivating illustration alive through the hands of master artisans from Italy. By assembling each part by hand, they give life to an exceptional piece reigned by Dior’s spirit and honoring the art of detail that the House has always cherished.
