Vintage Florals – The Do’s and Don’ts

Let’s start with the obvious; vintage florals are next season’s biggest hit. But be warned, it’s not any kind of floral pattern, it’s indeed the seventies-inspired vintage floral pattern. So how could such an outdated trend make its way to the present time- and with style might we add?

While some people believe that it’s a springtime given, designers beg to differ. The common misconception has brutally ended, giving way to a delight of prints and colors and bringing back the sweet memories of the feisty seventies. And while it’s all too tempting to go for more discrete patterns, the fact still remains that designers have stacked up their runways with vintage glam, turning the old seventies kitsch into must-have vintage numbers! That said, there are certain rules when it comes to wearing floral items fashionably.

Have a floral ensemble you’re dying to wear? Put it back in your closet. You want to bring some edge to the old-fashioned floral pattern, so do pair it with a pared-down item. For instance, you can mix a white blouse with a floral skirt or a floral top with a leather skirt.

Don’t underestimate the power of fabrics. Mixing them together can create a beautiful result. Opt for lace, leather and silk, etc…

Do opt for vintage floral palazzo pants. Enough said.

Don’t shy away from 3d floral embellishments. They bring sass to your outfit and are so in! You can have them on dresses, gowns or even tops!

Do consider going for floral-themed accessories. You can opt for flower earrings, 3d floral necklaces or even big statement headpieces.

But most importantly, don’t forget to own it!
