Jewelry has been and will always be one of design’s most artful forms and deserves to take part in the much-anticipated Saudi Design Week, which will take place from October 5th till October 8th. This year, Van Cleef & Arpels will represent this art. So are you ready to get swooned?
With this year’s theme being “Design in Motion”, the High Jewelry Maison will organize an exhibition entitled “Couture & Movement” to highlight the play of volume and style in its high jewelry creations. “Couture” represents the close relation between high jewelry and haute couture, as they both share the same values of respect for traditions, transmission of skills and the constant pursuit of excellence. Therefore, the term couture is a word that defines these shared values.
That said, the exhibition is set to exceed all expectations. It will prove how the grace and refinement of haute couture creations are reinterpreted through jewelry crafted by master jewelers and how the Roaring Twenties strongly influenced jewelry making – resulting in pieces that recall freedom, extravagance and modernism. The marvels on display will evoke the fabric of sophisticated garments and will transform ornaments like buttons, zips, pompons and ribbons into precious treasures.
