Timepieces that Speak about Nature

Nature and all its creatures have always been a great source of inspiration for watchmakers. And when watchmaking meets the art of expressing nature and all its glory, the timepiece becomes an artwork to adorn any wrist with grace and beauty.

Enameling takes center stage when it comes to speaking about nature through a timepiece. However, every year comes with new techniques and new creations that open the door to new ways to express the beauty of Mother Nature. Whether through an artful dial, a case that recalls a creature through its shape or even through the bracelet, the watches we have seen this year so far are sure to add a unique touch to any outfit.

While Dior captured a natural scene on the dial of its Grand Bale Soir Botanic timepiece in a very unique way, Jaquet Droz’s Petite Heure Minute Relief Seasons Spring watch sees two birds standing on a blooming tree on its dial. A butterfly found its place on Bovet’s Papillon dial, and a jelly fish perfectly adorned Ulysse Nardin’s Jade Cloisonné Jellyfish timepiece, while small Hortensias softly decorated the case of Chaumet’s Hortensia Eden watch.

As for Bulgari, the new Serpenti Twist Your Time case takes the shape of a serpent’s head and its strap resembles that of the creature’s body, as it wraps around the wrist of its wearer. However, in Chanel’s dictionary, innovation is manifested through a movement that takes the shape of a camellia, Coco Chanel’s favorite flower.

And while Chopard reaches new levels of the Fleurisanne art of engraving to create its L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Peony timepiece, Hermès uses its mastery in the art of enamel to unveil its new Slim d’Hermès Grrrrr! timepiece and Cartier uses exceptional sense of creativity to offer women the stunning Panthère Joueuse watch.
