Time to Focus

Watchmakers are always striving to please customers on varied technical and aesthetical aspects. Unexpected interpretations, baffling horological creations and special complications often lead to the making of the ultimate luxury experiences in the form of watches.

Track the time with Cartier, Hublot, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, Girard-Perregaux, Jaeger-LeCoultre or Chopard. Two fantastic watches we’ve shortlisted are Montblanc 4810 Orbis Terrarum and Faberge’s Visionnaire DTZ 18k rose gold. Montblanc’s 4810 Orbis Terrarum wristwatch has central superimposed discs that indicate day or night around the world, while the key time zone cities London, New York, Sydney, Dubai, Istanbul, Moscow, Mexico etc., are marked out around the dial.

Faberge has come up with a remarkable way of displaying a second time zone with a 24-hour window visible at the center of the timepiece. The hours and minutes of the local time zone are featured using peripheral, open-worked hands that rotate around a raised, decorated dome at the centre of the dial. The hour of the second and remote time zone is viewed through an aperture at the centre of the dome, and is optically amplified.

If you are fascinated by astronomy, Christiaan Van Der Klaauw’s (CVDK) Real Moon Joure, which had bagged the ‘European Watch of The Year in 2014, would be the perfect pick. The CVDK atelier is globally renowned for its exclusive handmade astronomical watches. The Real Moon Joure has a one-of-a-kind miniature moon that rotates to show the actual moon phase. With only a deviation of one day in 11,000 years, this is perhaps the most accurate 3-D moon phase incorporated in a mechanical watch.
