Time for Colour

Gentle spring moving into warm summer is a great time to say hello to more color: bright yellows, neon greens, rich reds, nice navy blues, deep mandarin and soft pinks and mauves. Many of our top picks have been recently unveiled at the Paris Jewellery Week and Baselworld. Of course, a few have made their way to our list with either their novel shape or petite frame.

Chanel rocks time with a pop of color in its Premier Chain Intertwined collection: pink and turquoise. We’ll go for the pink this time. The iconic chain strap intertwined with the fine leather wraps around the wrist like a ribbon, while the mother-of-pearl dial borrows its shape from the octagonal bottle stopper of the iconic Chanel No 5 fragrance bottle. Similarly, the La D De Dior Granville and its mini-versions are a beauty to behold, as is the Baume et Mercier trendy wrap-around Petite Promesse watches.

The new color trend in watches this year is blue. We saw some more blue at Baselworld and hence a new must-have is the blue watch from Harry Winston’s Emerald Collection. Also, we’ve discovered a new fondness for adventurous shapes and a riot of colors. Our choice? The Celebration Skull unisex watch inspired by the ‘celebration of life.’ Fiona Kruger has added some super cool superluminova details that glow in the dark to reveal the skull outline.

The red diamond accented version from Picchiotti’s Caletta collection, soft pink Lady Fabergé timepiece and the new Ladybird Ultraplate watch by Blancpain too are top tickers for summer.
