Ever put on an eyeshadow and felt like you need to reapply several times to actually see color? This might be ok for subtle every day looks, but for evening looks we want our shadow to pop. So we tried out several brands to find out which ones are the most highly pigmented. You could also check these out and test them on the back of your hand, but remember that your eyelids have super thin skin that gets oily real quick. Try these out in your favorite shades or our recommended picks. These do have an element of shimmer, so make sure you put them only on your lids.

Urban Decay, one of the firsts to make eyeshadow palettes a trend, is all about intense color. My all time favorite used to be Midnight Cowgirl, but as I learned more about what looks good on my skin tone, I realised this was a bit on the cool tone side for me. Luckily they have another shade called Midnight Cowboy that’s on the warmer side and we love the name.

NARS Hardwired in Earthshine is such a pretty shade. We always feel like artists when using NARS since they have such gorgeous colors. This is a super girly shade that would pair up nicely with a pinkish nude lipstick.

Kat von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Raw Powder, is one of my favorite shades for fall so have fun with this mahogany gem.

Tarte Tarteist Metallic Shadow in Dame is a rich shade and we appreciate the no fall out.

The name says it all; Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow in Champagne is my go to lid color and I love that it’s long lasting.
