Playing with Primers

Lately I was going through my makeup collection and noticed that I have so many primers that I haven’t used. I admit, I usually buy them with foundation but get lazy and skip this step. So I decided to give them another shot. A new tip I learned from my cousin was using primer by itself. Primer has a tiny bit of coverage but it’s perfect if you’re just going out to run an errand but want to look a bit presentable.

The perfect portrait starts with the right base. Start of with moisturizing your face but wait a few minutes for this to settle in. Do the same with your primer. Just like when you paint your nails, do one coat, let it dry and then apply the top layer. MAC Prep and Prime is a great option because it’s lightweight and calms down any redness.

Another way I love using primer is by mixing it with my foundation. I do thiswith the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer. I love how it bring my foundation to life by giving it a glow.

Smashbox PHOTO FINISH PORE MINIMIZING FOUNDATION PRIMER is great for large pores. Remember that you can also prime just problem areas. I like to use this on my nose, but I don’t use this all over.

I am obsessed with Tom Ford Resort to Pleasure Bronzing Primer. I love how this gives you a tan without being too obvious. It looks dark at first but when you apply your foundation over it, you just look like you’ve been hanging at the beach all day.
