With the beginning of 2017, a new Chinese zodiac is about to kick start on January 28. We hear everybody saying that it’s the year of the Rooster, but what does that mean? Let’s find out together before we run out to get ourselves a collection of Rooster jewelry and watches.

The Rooster is the tenth sign in the Chinese Zodiac according to a 12-year cycle, and the years of the Rooster include 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017 and 2029.  The lucky colors for a Rooster are gold, brown and yellow, while the lucky numbers are 5, 7 and 8. A Rooster is known to be observant, hardworking, confident, courageous, talented and honest.

The weird thing is that the Chinese astrology believes the year of one’s birth sign is the unluckiest year in the 12-year cycle and during the year of your sign, your luck in all aspects of your life will not be as good.

Since roosters are more motivated than other animals in the Chinese zodiac, the people born under this sign tend to make their career a priority in their lives. Hard working and multi-talented, the good careers for Roosters are newsreader, sales person, restaurant owner, public relations officer, athlete, journalist and surgeon – to name a few.

Now that you know all about this sign, you can start collecting your favorite Rooster pieces!
