My Jewelry Obsession – How to buy Jewelry for Yourself?

As a modern and independent woman, you shouldn’t wait for anybody to give you a jewelry piece, because buying your own favorite items feels great and you know you’re good at it. This also applies to buying yourself a jewelry piece that you’ve eyed for quite a while. Whether you want to make yourself happy after a hard day at work or you want to reward yourself for an achievement, the piece you buy will make you feel happy every time you look at it.

To buy the perfect jewelry piece for yourself, there are a few golden rules that you should not ignore. In fact, you don’t want to buy a piece that you’ll end up forgetting about because it doesn’t fit your style. So start by asking yourself the following questions: is your style conservative or every day is casual Friday? Do you attend the opera and theater during the weekend or would you rather hang out with your friends? Is your wardrobe filled with feminine pieces or you usually opt for sporty looks? The answers to these questions are very important because they will tell you which jewelry pieces go with almost everything you wear and make you feel happier for a longer time.

The second step is to know the kind of jewelry you want. Are you looking for a minimalist piece that goes with any outfit you wear, from Monday to Sunday, or for a statement one you can wear on special occasions? If you don’t have the basics, you should probably start by getting yourself some, such as diamond studs that fit your budget, a simple gold chain set with a diamond or a stunning diamond tennis bracelet.

Next, you have to set your budget. This step is really important, because if you exceed your available budget, you will get disappointed and this is certainly not a feeling you should experience. Make sure to let the salesperson know what you can afford so they only show you the pieces that fit your budget.

Finally, make sure to protect the piece and get it checked by your jeweler every once in a while, to make sure that the gemstone doesn’t need any repairs. If the jewelry piece you got yourself is very precious, investing in insurance is ideal.
