Mismatched Shoes – The Do’s and Don’ts

It all started in the nineties. Yes, mismatched colored shoes were all the rage and everyone was going gaga over this trend! Fast forward to today, and not everyone is quite as excited about the eccentricity of this style. But let’s lay down the facts… why wouldn’t you try something that was once very popular? Granted, we’re not encouraging the aerobic craze, but there are some trends that could totally be worth revisiting. Enter the mismatched shoes, a dear-old fashion friend and Will Smith’s favorite pal! So if you ever spot someone wearing different color shoes, don’t just assume they had an electricity problem and had to get dressed in the dark. No, it’s a deliberate and bold- lest we forget- choice.

But if you’re still not convinced, then Céline’s daring clashing color choice for its Spring-Summer 2017 show will surely seal the deal for you!

Do choose opposite colors. For instance, one shoe could be white and the other pink!

Don’t choose different styles. There’s a fine line between making a fashion statement and being a clown!

Do make sure that both colors go well with your whole attire. Keep in mind that your outfit should flow well with your accessories.

Since the first thing people notice are your shoes, don’t forget to opt for stylish and clean shoes.

If you’re wearing a monochromatic ensemble, then do go for vibrant shoes. Blue vs green, pink vs orange…

If you’re a print-lover, then by all means, do mix-up your prints. One shoe could scream polka dots while the other could scream stripes.

But whatever you do- and obviously, for health purposes- avoid wearing heels with flats. That’s just fashion terrorism.
