M Missoni Welcomes Spring 2016 with a Unique Twist

Hop on a time machine and go back to a 1940s circus, where showgirls don the most extravagant of costumes. With the sole aim to celebrate these innocently quirky days, M Missoni has extracted bits and pieces of the retro wardrobes and infused them into its new Spring-Summer 2016 repertoire for a playful kick.

The world of the circus has finally come alive in the most unique of ways, protruding a sense of freedom to the wearer. Above-the-knee skirts, fit ankle cropped pants, ample shorts, flared skirts and dresses and good girl collars are all part of this distinct collection.

Even the most intricate of details share a common ground with the circus life. The gaudy glamor materializes in jacquard pindots similar to those of acrobats, ruffled necklines and capes as a friendly reminder to the Pierrot clown collar and a clown bow for an eclectic touch on dresses and jumpsuits.

The most striking references to the world of the circus might just be the myriad of motifs, including tamers, trapeze artists, animal pedestals, circus pins and stars adorning duchesse, crepe and cotton fabrics. You couldn’t possibly miss them, they’re everywhere, from foulard inserts to caftans and t-shirts.

Garments don’t shy away from a vibrant color palette, where pink meets green and different hues explode in a colorful tornado of fuchsia, purple, acid green, orange and teal.

Enter the exciting world of a glamourous circus by viewing the collection in the Photo Gallery.
