Lipstick Perfect

You have perfectly managed to get everything ready on time for your big day, but there is only one thing that is still up in the air… your lipstick! Although it’s a little tube that you might assume is unimportant, we would like to highlight the following fact: like everything else at your wedding, from the smallest detail to the biggest decision, everything should be absolutely perfect, and this includes your lipstick. You should not choose a shade that doesn’t mesh well with your dress and theme. Just like your union, you want harmony with the colors, and not a clash. So here are some things to take into consideration when you visit your makeup artist for the trial session!

1 – Describe the dress, the venue, the theme and of course the lighting.

2 – As lipstick is so personal, think about the kind of woman you are.

3 – After the artist balances out your face, applies eyeshadow, eyeliner and blush or bronzer, comes the time to try out different shades of lipsticks.

4 – When it comes to choosing the perfect color, don’t think that it’s necessary to choose a nude one – some brides choose red or plum and pull it off really well because they are used to wearing these shades. Stay true to your personal style!

5 – Try out as many shades as you want – making sure to apply concealer along the edge of your lips after each one in order to neutralize the color - and choose the lipstick that is the closest to your personality, one that you can easily wear every day. Why? Because when you need to reapply at the ceremony, so you will know how it feels and how it wears.

6 – Narrow down the ones you liked best, as the choice here becomes easier. Once you have made a choice, get yourself the exact same lipstick and wear it for two weeks everywhere you go – to the gym, a soirée, a lunch with friends, a visit to the grocery store… – with little to no foundation. That’s how you’ll know if you’ve made the right choice!

Now before we wish you the best of luck in this quest, head to the Photo Gallery to get inspired by the shades we have gathered for you!
