How to be the Perfect Bridesmaid

So your best friend is getting married… awesome! You ladies have been talking about her wedding since the day you met; what would she wear? Where would she have it? Heck, would you even be the bridesmaid? And now that the day has finally come, you have been blessed with the fabulous opportunity of being the “chosen one”. But with this honor come a whole lot of responsibilities, from taking care of the brides’ needs to being by her side should she have cold feet- please don’t encourage her to escape from the window.

We’re hoping we’ll make a sound job explaining that first and foremost, being a bridesmaid doesn’t only entitle you to look pretty in a long dress and hold a bouquet. Being a bridesmaid goes beyond that; there’s the stress of planning the shower, making sure everything goes as smoothly as possible and most importantly, planning the perfect bachelorette party- or else you’ll forever be doomed to face the wrath of a raging bridezilla!

If you wish to be a kick-ass bridesmaid, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve gathered trued-and-tried tips for you to be crowned the best.bridesmaid.ever. You’re welcome.

Plan ahead of time.

Yes ladies, in this turbulent-albeit beautiful- equation, planning is key. All celebrations related to the big day should be planned as soon as possible, from the bachelorette party, to the bridal shower and of course, the expenses. If you’re organized, we guarantee the operation perfect-bridesmaid will go as smoothly as a baby’s skin (yes).

Expect the worst.

Planning your best friend’s weddings is not as easy as 1,2,3. The road is very rocky and you’ll probably get scowled and screamed at. Many things will go wrong, the event-planner may cancel at the last minute and you might end up with no venue for the bachelorette. The most important thing here is for you to keep calm and be ready to face wedding-related bumps.

Be patient.

Now we all know the bride can get a little- lest we forget- crazy during the wedding preparations. You must be patient and understanding. One piece of advice? Don’t take her comments too personally…she’s just stressed out and probably needs someone to lash on!

Love your “bridesmaid” dress. No matter what.

There’s no need for us to explain this matter further. Just love it. Even if you don’t love it, just love it.

Don’t complain to the bride.

The poor little thing has too much on her mind already that doesn’t need a whole other deck of complaints. Just make it easier on her and you’ll be forever safe!

Don’t fight with the other bridesmaids.

Just don’t! The last thing the bride needs is more tension. If anything, you should e a peacekeeper!

Plan the Bachelorette according to the Bride’s needs.

No one knows the bride as well as you, so take advantage of this fact and let the bachelorette reflect what she likes the most, from the venue to the entertainments!

Be there.

Whatever she needs, just be present. Don’t be fooled by how easy this part might seem, as this is the most crucial quality in a bridesmaid. Complete this task and you’;; forever be crowned as “Best Bridesmaid of the year”.
