Ginger & Jagger: Luxury Designs Inspired by Nature

If you’re looking for contemporary product designs and furniture for your interiors, Ginger & Jagger could be what you need. Launched in Europe in 2012, the Portugal-based brand draws upon leaves, vines, twigs and branches for creative inspiration.

Ginger & Jagger, which is part of the Urbanmint Design Group, has been making a splash in the decor scene with its handcrafted pieces that are a unique blend of “nature, design and craftsmanship.”
The brand, says Paula Sousa, Creative Director of Urbanmint, was born out of the need for something more surprising, and with more identity. “Nowadays, you often think, ‘Oh! I’ve seen that somewhere before.’ It’s getting more and more difficult to distinguish the different brands. We wanted to do something different,” she adds.

Using unique artisanal techniques and materials like brass, copper, marble and exotic woods, the craftsmen make harmonious pieces, wherein the design narrative takes a highly functional approach. Ginger & Jagger’s eclectic furniture is undoubtedly high on style, as is evidenced by its iconic Ananaz, Rosebush and Pebble coffee tables. Featuring detailed mirrored marquetry, the Mantle Mirror design is inspired by Earth’s textures, while the Fractal Sideboard dons a kaleidoscopic marble garb are worth a buy. The brand recently unveiled an elegant bookcase, Flora, made of branches molded in brass cast – this is one bookcase you’ll want to take home with you, right away!

To see the furniture up-close, head to Downtown Design, Stand B09. The Nakkash Gallery, Dubai, will showcase (from October 27-30) curated pieces from Ginger & Jagger and luxury furniture brand Munna. Ginger & Jagger is available at international showrooms in Shanghai, Riyadh, Moscow, Dubai and Jakarta. For details, visit: www.gingerandjagger.com
