First Impressions: Foundations

We all want one thing when it comes to makeup, flawless skin. Foundation alone can transform your entire face by just using your fingertips. We all have our secrets hiding under our makeup. Whether it’s redness or uneven skin tone, you need to find the correct foundation that suits your skin type and lifestyle. I do have some favorites but I’m always testing out new products. Here’s a review of a few new one and a couple of other ones that are just new to me but popular in general.

I’m almost done with my bottle of Armani Luminous Silk Foundation so when I went to buy another one I saw the Luminous Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup and thought I would give it a try. The first reason I love this is the fact that it has sunscreen SPF30. It gives your skin this radiant coverage that really looks like your own skin. It’s also infused with oils so you are helping your skin while wearing foundation which is great. I don’t use this every day because I usually wear a tinted moisturizer but I love it for special days when I want extra coverage to look more presentable with a subtle look.

For those that are blessed with great skin, the Estée Edit by Estée Lauder Skin Glowing Balm Makeup with Pink Peony is a great way to give your skin that added glow. I love wearing this to the beach or for every day. Personally I like to mix this with my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation to give it a little bit more coverage. This is also great for younger girls that are starting to experiment with makeup. I love the modern packaging and the fact that it comes with a pump.

When I saw that Lancôme is releasing the Dual Finish – Multi-tasking Longwear Powder Foundation I had to try it. I have been a longtime fan of their Dual Finish Powder, probably since High School. The scent alone is enough to make me feel ultra feminine. There are so many different ways to use this. I either use it to set my make up or carry it around in my purse to touch up. This can also be used alone for a velvet matte finish. I got this in a super dark shade too, so I can use it for contouring.

It seems that almost every time I watch a makeup tutorial Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is used or mentioned as a favorite. I have been a little bit on the oilier side lately so I’ve been wanting to try out an oil free foundation. This foundation has coconut water in it which was one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s super lightweight which sometimes oil free foundations aren’t. It also is great for your skin because it contains hyaluronic acid. It has a nice coverage that is buildable which makes it great for morning or night. My only question regarding this foundation is…”where have you been all my life!?”

I wanted a full coverage foundation for going out that is also longwearing. DiorSkin Forever Foundation is a red carpet favorite, so I gave it a try. I wore this on the weekend and it looked flawless from day to night. It definitely lived up to its “forever” name.
