Dior Exhibition Celebrates 70 Years of Miss Dior

Recently, we all learnt that July 5th will be the day when the history of the house of Dior will be revealed to honor 70 years of creativity. However, what is still to be unveiled is the celebration of Miss Dior’s 70th anniversary.

The much-awaited exhibition of “Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams” taking place at the Parisian Musée Des Arts Décoratifs honors Miss Dior, the first-born of the house’s fragrances that was created in 1947, through the “Dior, Couturier-Perfumer” room. Dedicated to this scent that has launched the rich and beautiful history of Dior’s fragrances, the latter displays the most iconic Miss Dior dresses, from the very first one created by Monsieur Dior in 1949 to Raf Simon’s pointillist design and Maria-Grazia Chiuri’s embroidered marvel, along with photographs of Catherine Dior, the couturier’s beloved sister and the inspiration behind this legendary fragrance.

Moving to the “Dior and the Grasse region” display, a journey to the Chateau de La Colle Noire awaits the visitor, while “Perfume bottles and exceptional women” reveals the faces of the stars that are faithful to the scent of Miss Dior such as Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren and Giulietta Masina. Everything related to this perfume – including the art of Dior bottling, photographs of the modern Miss Dior creator François Demachy and the face of Miss Dior Natalie Portman – unfolds before our eyes to tell the story of an eternal youth.

The Journey continues to immerse the visitor in the Colorama universe by showcasing the fundamental colors of the house and the most talented figures of Dior Beauty, from Serge Lutens to Tyen and Peter Philips, in the “Dior and the Photographers” room. As for J’adore, it shines amidst the 5 dresses that appear in the advertising campaigns.
